Here’s a decent article that rounds up the big problems facing China now. It’s not economic but sociopolitical issues that present the biggest danger. As most people who keep up with international news would know, this isn’t surprising, what with the Bo X scandal, the Chen Guangcheng issue, the Wukan affair, and even the stories of unrest in Tibet all happening in the past half year. Yes, China has a lot of problems, and unless the leadership really deals with them properly, China will never really rise to become a true superpower. But, but, I still can’t help feeling that articles about China’s impending implosion often are a bit off the mark. I’m pretty sure that you could easily find articles like these in years past.
