It’s a sad but not shocking day for one of the classiest NFL stars, LaDainian Tomlinson, formerly star running back for the San Diego Chargers. He was released Monday after 9 mostly great seasons, including one where he won the league MVP award and had 31 touchdowns, an all-time league record. He was one of my favorite players when I started watching football and he’s always remained so. It’s very unfortunate that apart from injuries, playoff failures also blighted him despite his prolific form and being on one of the most talent-packed teams in the past decade. I hope he can get a graceful exit and find a good role with a decent team where he can finish off his career in some style and glory.
